• 1923: Trevor Wilkinson was born in Blackpool on the 14th may 1923

• 1946: Trevor Wilkinson bought a buisness in Blackpool to sell and repair cars

• 1947: An Alvis Firebird a two-seater, was the first car Trevor Wilkinson built. Along with a partner Jack Pickard, a separate company started called TVR engineering. The name of the company was derived from his first name (TreVoR)

• 1949: The first TVR was built with an alloy-bodied two seat body on a tubular chassis.

• 1950: Many of the early cars were sold in kit form to avoid a British tax on assembled cars.

• 1954: Launch of the first "production" car, called the Mk1. It was named later as Grantura, TVR Engineering was renamed TVR.

• 1956: The U.S srart selling TVRs

• 1962: Trevor Wilkinson and Jack Pickard set up a specialist fibre-glass engineering business, and left the company, over the next three years the company changed hands many times

• 1965: New owner was Martin Lilley

• 1981: Peter Wheeler a TVR enthusiast was the new owner of TVR. Peter Wheeler a chemical engineer had made his fortune supplying specialist equipment to the North Sea oil industry

• 2004: Nikolai Smolenski (a russian banker) bought the company in July 2004

• 2006: Sales fell, and Smolensky announced production and assembly would go overseas, although the company headquarters would remain in Britain. By December the company was split into a smaller number of companies including TVR Engineering, TVR Cars Distribution Ltd and Blackpool Automotive

• 2008: Trevor Wilkinson died on the 6th June aged 85 In Minorca, Spain where he had moved to when he had retired
