1953: The Triumph TR2 was introduced, it was produced by Standard Motor Company in the United Kingdom. The Triumph TR2 featured twin SU carburettor version of the 1991cc four cylinder Standard Vanguard engine, with tuning to increase the output to 90bhp. The chassis featured coil spring independent suspension at the front with a leaf spring live axle at the rear. A choice of either disc or wire wheels were available. The transmission as standard was a four speed manual with the option for the top gear to be overdrive.
1955: The Triumph TR2 was discontinued.
