BMW 326 Car Facts, Description, Design & General Information
The BMW 326 was introduced in 1936 and produced until 1941 and again briefly in 1945. The BMW 326 was designed by Fritz Fiedler and was presented at the Berlin Motor show in February, 1936. This was their first vehicle available with four doors, other innovative features were the torsion bar rear suspension and the hydraulic brake control. On offer was a four door sedan and a two or four door cabriolet.
The appearance of the car was much more streamlined which contrasted with the previous relatively upright BMW's.
The engine, a straight 6, 1971cc version of the 319's engine having been bored out slightly, with twin Solex carburettors was claimed to produce a maximum of 50bhp at 3750rpm.
